Jesus came to The world

There are many proofs that Jesus Christ, the Son of God did actually come and dwell upon this earth. At this time of the year many people the world over have been celebrating the birth of Jesus, however, I am afraid that many have lost the true meaning of Jesus’ birth and purpose for coming to this world. I would like to bring to your remembrance why Jesus actually came to our world. I will make no attempt to list any of the reasons in an order of significance, I’ll leave that up to you.

Jesus left us a perfect example. (1 Pet 2:21)  "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:" Jesus left us a perfect example in manner of life; (1 Pet 1:15)  "But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;" Jesus is our perfect example in faithfulness to the Father; (John 4:34)  "Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work."

Jesus came to teach. Mat 7:28-29)  "And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: {29} For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes." In His teachings He taught the worth of the soul; (Mat 16:26)  "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" What a change there would be if everyone would heed the teachings of Jesus!

Jesus came to die on the cross thereby making it possible for sinners to be reconciled to God. According to Isaiah 59:1,2 our sins and iniquities have separated us from God. We must be aware that this is a message to all mankind because all have sinned Romans 3:23. Since everyone is a sinner and has been separated from God that means that all need to be reconciled back to God. Through His death on the cross reconciliation is possible; (Rom 5:10-11)  "For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. {11} And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement."

If you are aware that you are a sinner, surely you must be concerned about how to remove your sins. Only the blood of Christ can take away our sins; (Heb 9:22)  "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission." (Heb 10:4)  "For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins." Even before Jesus shed His blood John knew that it was Jesus who could take away the sin of the world; (John 1:29)  "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." After having shedding His blood the apostle Paul made this statement; (Col 1:13-14)  "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: {14} In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:"As a result of His coming we have a righteous judge. (2 Tim 4:8)  "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." There are two important facts contained in this verse; Jesus is coming again and when He comes He will come as a judge! Are you prepared for the judgement?
